Lens Info This exciting new zoom lens provides ultra wide-angle coverage to the EOS 20D/30D/40D and Digital Rebel shooter. Equivalent to a 16-35mm zoom, it offers excellent performance and optics designed from the ground-up for digital SLR use. Three Aspherical lens elements, plus a Super-UD element, assure image quality. Its ring-type USM means fast and silent AF along with full-time manual focus. It focuses as close as 9.5 inches.
Julius's Take This is a great quality lens that provides a super-wide coverage perfect for landscapes. This coverage was something that the cropped sensor users have been lacking from the standard EF line of lenses since the widest available is 16-35mm. At f3.5-4.5, this is a medium speed lens that will make low light photography and stopping action a bit difficult without an external flash. I have personally used this lens when I was on a trip to London and it was perfect for capturing tall and wide architectures without having to step back to fill the frame properly.
