The floating system also ensures high picture quality at all focal lengths. The Image Stabilizer has two modes and it is compatible with Extenders 1.4x II and 2x II.

If you're looking for a super zoom lens without the additional weight of the super zoom primes, then this is the "L" lens for you. Being an f4.5-5.6, it's perfect for outdoor long range shooting such as outdoor sports games, air shows and bird watching, but not for indoor events. The reach on this lens is simply amazing, if you are outdoors and need that extra reach, this is the lens for you.
